On the initiative of Balassi Institute – Collegium Hungaricum Vienna, the Balassi Institute – Hungarian Institute in Bucharest organizes the DONAU LOUNGE, that brings together literature and cultural programs mainly at book fairs in the major European theme "Danube". This platform for collaboration is the most important objective of the Danube Cultural Cluster and it is in consent with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. With the Donau Lounge the main aim is to have more dialogue, more tolerance and much more cultural collaboration between the countries of the Danube region.

The book called Sabazios of the Bulgarian author Kristin Dimitrova was published in 2012 in Romanian. The literary critic Corina Bernic will speak with the author about her novel, but also about the Elias Canetti Society and contemporary Bulgarian literature in the Danube region.

Workshop for children conducted by the editors of the Charmed Pencil children’s magazine in which they will edit a thematic issue of the magazine dedicated to the reiver Danube with the support of the participating children.

Dialogue and public reading with the Hungarian author István Kemény about his recently translated volume of poetry into Romanian O îndepărtată alarmă aeriană. His dialogue partners will the writer Marin Mălaicu-Hondrari and the translator of the volume Andrei Dósa.

Filip and Matei Florian will be in dialoge about literature and fishing related to their common volume recently translated into Hungarian, Băiuţeii. The dialogue between the brothers will be moderated by the writer Karácsonyi Zsolt.
